Thirteen Lives (2022)

You might think subterranean rescues are formulaic, but Thirteen Lives grips you before the first flood trembles. Its blend of docudrama grit and cinematic tension blurs the line between reality and cinema, especially when the global cast feels like a solitary orchestra. The climax is showcased by a practical‑effects tour de force, a single shaky entry haul through flooded corridors that feels like the earth itself is breathing. The film will draw you in if you crave breath‑holding suspense that relies on physics and atmosphere rather than spectacle. Some critics cite a slightly drawn slower pace midway, yet it deepens the psychological stakes for those who enjoy a meticulously layered storyline.
