Words Bubble Up Like Soda Pop (2021)

Under a humid July sky, a shy boy and a bubbly girl find a universe of their own in the space between wishes. Unlike most romances, Words Bubble Up Like Soda Pop relies on haiku—whimsical snapshots of longing—to paint a landscape of quiet intensity. The standout moment comes when the boy narrates a stanza over a slow‑motion sunset, turning ordinary footage into lyrical gold. Yet the film’s deliberately measured pacing can feel sluggish at its tail, a small flaw that nibbles at the emotional payoff. If you’re looking for a gentle summer love that feels more poem than plot, this 2021 coming‑of‑age romance will satisfy.
