Watcher (2022)

Picture a quiet night in a small West Coast town, and suddenly your sense of safety feels like a flickering streetlamp. In this psychological thriller, every mundane detail—from the polite neighbor’s wave to the cold hum of streetlights—serves as a potential threat, drawing you into a maze where paranoia stitches the story. Watcher keeps your pulse racing as it unravels the tension of a killer stalker while the camera lingers longer on the windowpane that frames an unseen observer, making the scene eerily intimate. Megan Mullally’s performance, understated yet razor‑sharp, captures a woman on the brink, yet the film’s middle act lingers at a deliberate slowdown that can feel more like a breathless pause than a narrative choice. Ideal for readers who savor film noir puzzles and appreciate a slow‑burn buildup of suspense.
