Virgin Forest (2022)

Imagine stepping into a dense wilderness where every leaf whispers danger. Virgin Forest rises from a sleepy idea of a photographer chasing a mythic flower into the harrowing truth of women entrenched behind neon‑lit walls owned by outlaw loggers. The film's standout moment is a long, uninterrupted tracking sequence that slides you from mist‑shrouded ridges to the brothel's hidden alcove, turning landscape voyeurism into a confession. If you crave a slow‑burn thriller that rewards observant eyes, the film’s deliberate pacing keeps you gliding past emotional cliff—turning the forest into a living, breathing entity. Though the third act rushes to tie up loose ends, the unsettling undertones linger, offering a nuanced canvas for contemplation.
