Troll (2022)

When a meteorite detonates beneath the silent Norwegian fjords, a hulking ancient monster bursts into the world. The film pairs a hardened paleontologist with a desegregated investigative team, merging forensic science with folklore into a fresh creature‑feature. Joaquin Phoenix carries every scene with an almost wordless intensity that turns the hunt into a psychological duel. A mid‑movie slowdown leaves the tense momentum momentarily dragging, making the build‑up feel a measure slower than necessary. You’re the audience that thrives on bone‑chilling, cerebral suspense rather than overt blood‑letting.
