Our Take
Expert, independent review by the HollyFlixHD Editorial Team
When a dimly lit path promises every wish, you are pulled into a town that guards its own kind of desire. In this 2022 Japanese drama – subtle fantasy meets quiet rural life – The Tunnel to Summer, the Exit of Goodbyes places an ancient roadway at the center, turning longing into a tangible rite. Its standout is the languishing score, each note swelling beneath the sun‑bleached backdrop to create a cinematic heartbeat that never lets you forget the weight of a wish. Ideal for those who crave quiet introspection interlaced with mythic symbolism, this film refuses to deliver conventional resolutions. A lingering pacing issue in the middle act drags a few scenes, but the emotional payoff keeps the journey worthwhile.
