The Super Mario Bros. Movie (2023)

Suddenly the living room turns into a scrolling side‑by‑side pixelated landscape that pulls you in with every laugh and loophole. The film’s unique twist comes from its use of sound design that literally translates Mario’s jumps and enemys into a pulsating rhythmic beat. A standout element is the bold, oversized sprite font that scrolls across the screen, making the dialogue feel like a level sprint rather than a conversation. You’ll feel at home if you love bright, cartoon physics coupled with a touch of irreverent humor, especially when the duo’s brotherly banter flares up amid neon chaos. Yet the pacing slides a bit when the narrative pauses for a mid‑movie “boss battle” montage that feels more surgical than celebratory.
