The Draft (2023)

Gripping you as the night deepens within an abandoned villa, The Draft! (2023) lures you into psychological dread built up through a clever interplay of nouns and silence. What makes it unique is the subterranean world of the old well that says more with its darkness than with any line of dialogue, turning every creak into a haunting reminder of past secrets. A standout element is the director's bold choice to let impossible silence carry the tension, never relying on a score to glide you through the forbidden room. You will love the relentless twist of a seemingly omnipotent evil that forces each character to outmaneuver the next, keeping your nerves pricked at every moment. A minor flaw lies in the pacing drag in the middle act, which tempers the otherwise intense build.
