The Adults (2023)

If a quiet weekend in your hometown ascends into a labyrinth of old bonds and secrets, you are invited to feel the ache of buried childhood. The film holds its breath, letting tension rise without rushing, like a slow-burn candle in a dim room. Joaquin Phoenix carries every scene with almost no dialogue, his silence a steady drum that keeps you on edge. At times the pacing drifts, making the climax feel a shade flat. Still, its delicate whispers of family ties will linger long after the credits roll.
