Tetris (2023)

Late nights, dim-lit auditoriums, and a single polygonal puzzle cube — an unexpected glimpse back to the 1988 winter that birthed Tetris. Tetris, a cerebral biographical drama, tracks the arc from a small gamer in Moscow to a worldwide sensation, framing ambition through the Iron Curtain. Joaquin Phoenix, as Henk Rogers, carries scenes that feel like a strategical match‑four, his performance tight and relentless. The pacing sometimes thins in the middle act, but the third‑act stakes leap forward with a legal showdown that dominates the screen. If you thrive on clever corporate intrigue with a Cold War edge, Tetris will reward your curiosity.
