Taboo: Family Secrets (2024)

If the heat of a forbidden desire feels like a storm you wish you could weather, this film keeps you on the edge of your seat. It unspools a family's unraveling through quiet, almost cinematic tremors, turning every ordinary moment into a deliberate test of loyalty. The camera lingers, almost voyeuristically, on mundane objects—a hallway with peeling paint or a photograph that fades—making secrets feel both impossible to escape and disturbingly obvious. You’ll discover a slow build of tension that forces your own morality to waver, as forgiveness and betrayal collide in vivid, unsettling scenes. A brief mid‑act slowdown in pacing tempers the urgency, but the film’s raw emotional core keeps you pressed forward.
