Our Take
Expert, independent review by the HollyFlixHD Editorial Team
When the ocean swallows your birthday celebration, safety dissolves into a gray storm. Survive channels that claustrophic terror into a living nightmare, weaving raw sea footage and unnerving CGI to convince you that the deep is an inescapable predator. The lead of Ethan Hawke, his austere presence, anchors the terror, while the film's soundtrack turns waves into a relentless companion. A brief pacing lull in the second act leaves you yearning for more immediate conflict. You’ll be drawn in if you crave survival thrillers that mix psychological dread with visceral spectacle.
