Smile 2 (2024)

Chasing stage lights into the perilous abyss, you’ll feel the tremor of a pop star’s rise folding into a fractured psyche. The film intertwines a global tour with a descent into lucid nightmares, a formula that feels fresh yet unsettling. A standout moment occurs when Skye Riley becomes trapped in a dimly lit hotel corridor that blurs audience and ghost in a single tracking shot, a practical masterpiece that keeps you on edge. This psychological thriller delivers uncanny realism, though a sluggish middle act can feel a little stretched. If you crave a haunting ride that reverberates long after the final bow, this is the one to keep under the spotlight.
