Slaughterhouse On The Hill (2024)

When you watch Slaughterhouse On The Hill, the abandoned slaughterhouse feels like a living, breathing entity that tightens your breath at each din. Its low-key, improvised soundscape and raw edges give the horror a palpable state of suspense that says no to cheap effects. The most striking element is a nightmarish stealth sequence where a single flicker of light reveals a ghostly past. However, the first act lumbers into pure dread with a few expository moments that slow the tempo. You’re the perfect audience for a tightly wound, practical-effects horror that embraces dread over jump-scares.
