Shape of My Heart (2024)

Picture a day in which your ribs feel the pulse of another life, and every touch feels like a coded message. The film trades its genre label for an intimate exploration, marrying body‑swap conceit with an authentic two‑person romance that strays from typical punchlines. Joaquin Phoenix glides through the switch, delivering a quietly unsettling performance that makes the two bodies feel both foreign and achingly familiar. The score, a low‑key string quartet, lingers like a whispered promise that steadies the story's swirl. While the midsection stretches on a few heartbeats too long, the film's emotional core pulls you into a world where identity and affection collide.
