Our Take
Expert, independent review by the HollyFlixHD Editorial Team
You’ll feel the sharp sting of isolation in a paradise turned nightmare. In Primate, a tropical getaway morphs into psychological terror, subverting the island-sunset tropes with unsettling dread. The juxtaposition of sweeping Hawaiian vistas against the unhinged ferocity of Ben the chimp delivers a dissonant, almost claustrophobic immersion that grips you from the second frame. You crave a film that tests human endurance under primal pressure, and this will keep you on edge with its tense, survival‑oriented pacing. Minor pacing slippage after the first act lingers, though the tension never truly dissipates.
