Orphan: First Kill (2022)
There's always been something wrong with Esther.
Plot Summary
After escaping from an Estonian psychiatric facility, Leena Klammer travels to America by impersonating Esther, the missing daughter of a wealthy family. But when her mask starts to slip, she is put against a mother who will protect her family from the murderous “child” at any cost.
Our Take
Expert, independent review by the HollyFlixHD Editorial Team
When a suburban oasis turns into a cage of dread, you instantly feel its oppressive atmosphere. Unlike conventional thrillers, the film adopts a claustrophobic pacing that rattles from one scene to the next. A single, quietly delivered line from the relentless child actor turns an everyday home into a labyrinth of terror. You will enjoy the relentless tension if you thrive on slow-burning dread and perpetual uncertainty. The finale skims too quickly across the suspense, leaving you craving a more satisfying payoff.
