One Battle After Another (2025)

Hidden beneath the cracked earth of a forgotten town, One Battle After Another pulls you into a quiet, stony rebellion that feels like an unspoken conversation. The film distinguishes itself by centering on a father who erodes his own memories in a world where silence is louder than words, a tone that drags its slow‑burn suspense like a slow‑paced meditation. Joaquin Phoenix, in a worn suit and almost no dialogue, anchors every tense moment with an uncanny rawness that blurs hero and villain, leaving you unsettled. Pacing hiccups in the second act linger like stale air, slightly dampening an otherwise relentless build. Ideal for viewers who relish psychological thrillers that thrive on subtext and ambiguous morality.
