Novocaine (2025)

You’re pulled into Novocaine, an adrenaline‑choked psychological thriller that flips the classic love‑story rescue into a puzzle of pain‑free strategy. Nate’s unique gift—no feeling of pain—offers a fresh, brutal edge, making every close confrontation feel like a silent chess move. Joaquin Phoenix carries the story with a quiet, almost‑unbroken presence, turning even the smallest gesture into an explosive threat. The film’s pacing skids a touch in the third act, as a sudden rush of action trades tension for a blunt finish. If you hunger for tightly wound, noir‑inspired thrillers fueled by unsettling clarity, this one will hold your attention from start to finish.
