Plot Summary
After writing for Cahiers du cinéma, young Godard decides making films is the best film criticism. He gets Beauregard to fund a low-budget feature, creating a treatment with Truffaut about a gangster couple.
Our Take
Expert, independent review by the HollyFlixHD Editorial Team
Imagine watching a film that doubles as a manifesto for a cinematic revolution. What sets Nouvelle Vague (2025) apart is its refusal to set aside the aesthetic craft for narrative structure, letting criticism seep into every frame and every beat. In the opening sequence you’ll witness a raw, monochrome chase that doubles as a living critical essay, an arresting glimpse into the mind of a new Godard. If the idea of cinema as both art and argument thrills you, this French New Wave crime drama will reverberate long after the credits.
