Natacha, (Almost) Air Hostess (2025)

Imagine discovering that every step toward freedom feels like a runway flight you never quite take. Natacha, a 1963 French period drama, flips the conventional air hostess myth on its head, offering a raw look at ambition that feels more like a life-long audition than a job. The film’s standout element is its luminous, cinematic spectroscopy—each frame sweeps from the bright Parisian boulevards to the endless, blue expanse of sky in a way that feels both nostalgic and claustrophobic. Pacing drifts at moments, letting a sense of longing linger too long and causing the narrative to feel slightly aimless. Yet the film’s emotional payoff—its quiet triumph over self-doubt—makes the watch worth every second.
