Mantis (2025)

You will find yourself entangled in a web of silent violence, as a secret society of contract killers splinters into vicious chaos. Mantis rewrites the assassin genre with a twisted conspiracy that spills into a shadow economy of new killers, shedding every old charter for raw, unfiltered brutality. Joaquin Phoenix carries every scene with clipart minimal dialogue, allowing his presence to feel like a looming threat rather than a character. The film’s intensity is sharpened by a shifting, dissonant score that mirrors every change in allegiance, keeping you on edge. However, the middle act drags a bit, giving the stakes a momentary lurch before the finale. It belongs in your night‑time rota if you savor cerebral thrillers that tease motive with every frame.
