Leave the World Behind (2023)

Unexpected silence drapes over the holiday home, turning a vacation into a test of human instincts. Leave the World Behind, a slow-burn psychological thriller, unfurls a world where technology fails and human trust is torn. Your focus is held by Joaquin Phoenix, who carries every scene with almost no dialogue and unspools a quiet, haunting intensity. Pacing slows in the third act, when comedic flashes at the edge of tension break the rhythm, and the climax drags slightly. If you thrive in stories where everyday comforts twist into psychological labyrinths, this one will keep you on the edge.
