Grand Jete (2022)

Grand Jete opens in a quietly intense hallway where a mother’s sudden return feels like a thud. Its uniqueness lies in weaving family drama into a slow‑burn narrative, refusing to tidy its complex history into neat arcs. Mario’s crumbling choreography of denial becomes the film’s standout visual metaphor, echoing every unsettled emotion. A pacing hiccup in the middle act dulls momentum, but the piece ultimately nails the aching sense of belonging and abandonment. If you crave a drama that forces you to feel family’s unspoken boundaries, this is the one.
