Downton Abbey: A New Era (2022)

Imagine the Crawleys stepping beyond the familiar arches of their estate to a sun‑kissed villa in France, where secrets simmer beneath the villa’s new ownership. The film fuses classic period drama with a subtle mystery that feels like a quiet rebellion against the genteel veneer of high society. Iris Bryson's restrained performance injects a tense, restless edge that keeps you guessing about the characters' true motives. Pacing slips briefly midway as the villa’s scenes elongate, but the inevitable reveal restores rhythm. If you enjoy richly textured historical sagas that grow deeper beneath their polished surfaces, this is the one.
