Deep Water (2022)

Imagine a quiet affluent life where you trust your partner's secrets until the quiet breaks. Deep Water’s psychological thriller layers voyeuristic intrigue with a hushed, grotesque romance that feels like a maze of mirrors. Joaquin Phoenix’s razor‑thin performance carries almost every frame with almost no dialogue, turning the stage into an unsettling theatre. The film’s somber palette and measured pacing anchor a narrative that never rushes, but at one point the single‑room scenes feel slightly dragging. You’ll find the payoff satisfying if you welcome a slow‑burn, cerebral mystery that rewards patience.
