Death on the Nile (2022)

Every glittering glass bottle on the river steamer feels like a twisted clue, yet you’re drawn to a tranquil holiday aesthetic that belies the creeping terror beneath. The film doesn’t just resurrect Poirot; it blends his measured deductions with a subtle, almost theatrical tension that rots through the lavish Egyptian scenery. A sweeping handheld camera that glides past gold‑leafed ceilings and cobblestone steps adds a visceral weight to each whispered motive, making visual flair almost a main storyline. The pacing lapses into heavy exposition during the middle act, lengthening the moody build‑up and leaving the finale feeling slightly hurried. You’ll love it if you crave an intricate whodunnit that rewards attention to detail while immersing you in a golden‑aged decadence.
