Carry-On (2024)

On a frigid Christmas Eve, the frantic chatter of an airport feels like a pulse you can hear through your ribs. A security officer thrown into a silent duel with a mysterious traveler turns the familiar motif of a safe flight into a psychological chess game. Joaquin Phoenix’s portrayal of moral ambiguity shivers through the film, each non‑verbal beat slicing deeper into the bedrock of security. You will sense the weight of every scanner beep, and the underlying dread will hang like a shadow over your thoughts. It is for fans of slick, character‑driven thrillers that ask more questions than answers.
