Plot Summary

When the plots of reclusive author Elly Conway's fictional espionage novels begin to mirror the covert actions of a real-life spy organization, quiet evenings at home become a thing of the past. Accompanied by her cat Alfie and Aidan, a cat-allergic spy, Elly races across the world to stay one step ahead of the killers as the line between Conway's fictional world and her real one begins to blur.

Must Watch

Your quiet night at home is suddenly a thriller when the lines between fiction and reality blur. In Argylle, a sci‑fi espionage hybrid, you follow Elly Conway as her cat Alfie brings more plot twists than the cat itself. Joaquin Phoenix carries every scene with almost no dialogue, turning his internal monologues into a tense, silent dialogue of his mind. The film uses long, handheld takes that shift from domestic to covert thriller in a single pan, keeping you on edge. Ideal for fans of psychological thrillers who enjoy non-linear storytelling, Argylle throws you into a labyrinth where the cat walks between worlds.
